Our beginner burlesque instructor, Krista, started dance lessons early, sampling everything from ballet to tap to modern dance. None of them quite stuck, however, and she took a long hiatus from the dance world. About 5 years ago, she stumbled across a burlesque class, and it was love at first hip bump. She welcomes all bodies and all skill levels, although the class is designed for complete beginners. Come up and see her some time!

Andrea is an accomplished dancer who brings her expertise to Level Up's salsa, cumbia, and ballroom classes.

All Bodies Burlesque introduces beginners to the basics of burlesque (movement, musicality, and tease) in an uplifting, welcoming space. Led by instructor Honey who brings their signature mix of glamour and charisma to teach you that all bodies are burlesque bodies.

Melanie has been a dancer since she was old enough to walk! She has trained in all styles of dance, but her favorites are Musical Theatre and Jazz. Melanie is originally from Kentucky and moved to New York City after high school to go to a professional training program at The Institute for American Musical Theatre. While in NYC, she was a backup dancer for an indie pop artist, Shenna, she professionally choreographed Andrew Lippa’s “The Wild Party” at The Old Library Theatre in Fair Lawn, NJ, and she obtained her certificate to teach MELT Method. Life brought her over to Long Beach and she is very happy to join Level Up!

Mia will be teaching our new Youth Technique class. She has been training in multiple dance styles for over 10 years and is excited to develop dancers technique.

Ashton is a professional dancer and choreographer based out of Long Beach. Her Contemporary/Modern class is perfect for dancers at any level, from absolute beginner to working professional. The exercises and choreography always have options to level up or down, allowing dancers to explore and have fun in this welcoming, supportive environment.

Tavi is a nonbinary queer writer, dancer, and creative director with more than a decade of professional experience spanning multiple artistic disciplines. As a well-rounded instructor, Tavi has extensive training across a wide range of dance styles, with a particular focus on Heels, Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Contemporary. As a multifaceted creative, their work bridges storytelling, performance, and artistic direction, reflecting a deep commitment to self-expression, cultural awareness, and community engagement.
